The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you when you sign up to support the consensus and is used for the following reasons:

Farmers

We will use your name and email address to verify that you have signed the Food Farming and Nature Consensus and avoid duplicated sign ups

We will demonstrate farmer support for the Consensus on Food, Farming and Nature via a non identifiable number tracker at the bottom of the farmer sign up web page

We will use your location demonstrate the number of farmers that have signed up to the Consensus from each of the UK devolved administrations

This total number may be used to promote the total number of sign ups that are received, but personal information will not be shared with any other party as part of this process

We will use the name of your farm to help verify that you are showing your support to the Food, Farming and Nature Consensus as a farmer

We will use your email address to provide updates on the progress of the Consensus initiative as it progresses from the nature-friendly farming network, or to promote nature-friendly farming more generally (should you opt in)

How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored. We employ a variety of physical and technical measures to keep your data safe and to prevent unauthorised access to, or use or disclosure of your personal information. Electronic data and databases are stored on a secure computer system (password protected, with limited admin login and multi factor authentication). We control who has access to information and that they receive adequate data protection training. The secure computer system has nightly backups and a full server offsite incremental backup.

We will keep the personal information supplied when signing up to support the consensus for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it is collected, which may include satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. We will keep your data for the duration of the Food, Farming and Nature Consensus initiative, and then for a further twelve months. It will then be securely deleted.
Who is this information shared with?
As with most organisations, we use service providers to help us deliver our services and keep your data secure. When we use these service providers, it is necessary for us to share your personal data with them.
